What Is A Boudoir Photography Session?
Boudoir photography sessions are tasteful photos that hint at sexiness. Every person has their own idea of what sexy is, as well as what they are comfortable with. These sessions are cute, fun, sexy, flirty and even a bit sensual, all the while maintaining your comfort level. They are often done as gifts for the groom before or after the wedding.
What is a proof? What are the advantages to online proofing?
A proof is a general representation of the final portrait. Back in the days of film all of the negatives were processed the same. No special techniques were used to enhance any one photo. After the proof was selected the photo would be printed from the negative by a skilled lab in the darkroom. With the emergence of digital photography proofing is much the same. The way we view the proofs however, can be very different. Many photographers choose different methods to show you their proofs. Some of the options include online proofing, contact sheet proof books, and printed proofs.

What are the different types of albums?
The matted album is a series of pages in which photographs are hand-mounted to each page and surrounded by a matte, or border. Matted albums can include one or more photos per page, and can also include full or partial panorama photos. A flush-mount album consists of photos or photo layouts mounted to a board. The photos stretch to the very edge of the board, leaving no border at the edges. Magazine or coffee-table albums are similar in format to flush-mount albums. This design is called "magazine style" because the full-page layouts might remind you of a magazine spread, with numerous photographs assembled in interesting designs on each page. Each of these album types comes in a number of variations as offered by the many album manufacturers. Talk to us about specific album details and choices.
How long will it take to get our album?
Several factors will determine how quickly you’ll get your album. The first factor: how quickly you select your photos for the album. Once the photos are selected, the album design process can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. After you’ve approved the album layout, the pages are printed and then assembled into book form. This can be time-consuming—anywhere from a few weeks to a few months—because much of the work is done by hand. Add in the time it takes to ship the product, and you can estimate how long it will take to receive your album. Also keep in mind that with the arrival of autumn, people tend to take a strong interest in getting their albums completed in time for Christmas. If we are flooded with long-awaited photo selections from 25 clients in mid-October, it will take us longer to get the work done. Album manufacturers also face an increase in submissions at this time of year, so the best advice for getting your album quickly is to select your photos as soon as possible after your event.
Will you take the photos before or after the ceremony?
While the groom traditionally isn't supposed to see the bride before the wedding, bending the rules and taking pictures before the ceremony can make a lot of sense. The wedding party, the location and every head of hair are perfectly primped and ready to go. There's no frizzing, wrinkling or wilting to contend with yet. They also save time after the ceremony and allow the wedding party to get to the reception earlier.
If you plan on getting most of the shots before, make sure to factor in enough time prior to the ceremony to do your wedding photography and disappear before the guests start to arrive. Budget 60 to 90 minutes for the formal portraits. If going to a secondary location, plan on at least 2 hours. The larger the group being shot, the more time will be needed. Allow plenty of time. You don't want to spoil your grand entrance by being spotted beforehand. |
